Using the Chart Test

When creating a Chart Test, first set its Data Type, then its Chart Type, and then its Linked Tests.

The Chart Test must be linked to another Test that stores data, such as the:

After setting the Test's Chart Type, the property window will update with the display settings for that particular type. These settings will appear under the Chart heading.

Chart Settings

SPC Charts

When a Chart Test is linked to SPC Tests, data in the chart will be displayed for the Characteristics set on those SPC Tests.

If the Chart Test is set to display a Control Chart, each linked SPC Test's mean will be plotted as the last point on the chart. This provides a real-time view of data trends.

Control Chart Without Temp Data Point

Control Chart With Temp Data Point

If a Chart Test is linked to SPC Tests that are configured to dynamically set their Characteristic based on Part and Tag, and these SPC Tests are hidden because a matching Characteristic could not be found, the Chart Test will also be hidden. When a SPC Test is shown because a matching Characteristic was found, the Chart Test will also be shown.

DMS, OEE, and Task Charts

When a Chart Test is linked to Pass/Fail Tests, Defect List Tests, Rating Tests, OEE Tests, or Task Tests, data in the chart will be displayed for the Processes set on those Tests.

Task Charts

When a Chart Test is configured to display Task data, data in the chart will be filtered to match the Text to Store set on the linked Task Tests.

Filtering Data

Data displayed in Charts is always filtered to match the following:

When the user enters a value on a Traceability Test configured to filter data entry real-time checks and charts, the data in Charts in the same context as that Traceability Test will be filtered to match that value. For example, if real-time checks are filtered by Machine and a user selects Machine ABC as their machine, only data for Machine ABC will be displayed in the charts.

Charts are also filtered by the contextual Traceability set on Users, Workstations, Characteristics, and Processes (given that the Traceability set on those entities are set to filter data entry real-time checks).

Real-Time Alerts

When an Alert is configured to Send Linked Charts and a Test is configured to use that Alert, images of the Chart Tests linked to Tests with real-time failures will be included in the email.
