OEE Test

Subscription Tier Required

This feature requires the Premier subscription tier or higher.

The OEE Test is used in Inspections to collect data relating to Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). The OEE Test can be configured to collect availability, performance, and quality metrics.

OEE Test

Settings

Setting Description
Label The display name shown to the operator during the Inspection. This will also be stored as the data record's Test Label for analysis.
Visible Whether the Test is shown to the operator in the Inspection. A Test's visibility does not affect validation or whether data is stored.
Enabled Whether the Test can accept user input. Disabling a Test can be useful when the value is set via scripting.
Script ID Identifies how this Test is referenced in Inspection Scripts.
Required Whether the operator must complete this Test before submitting the Sub-Inspection.
Track Availability The input method used to collect availability data.

See Tracking Availability.
Track Performance The input method used to collect performance data.

See Tracking Performance.
Track Quality The input method used to collect quality data.

See Tracking Quality.
Availability Defect Category The Defect Category that contains the downtime Defects.

This setting is only applicable if Track Availability is set to Enter Downtime with Reasons.
Availability Process Override The Process that should be stored with the Availability DMS record. Only set this value if the Process should be different than the Process that would normally be stored with data from this Test.

This setting is only applicable if Track Availability is set to Enter Downtime with Reasons.
Availability Part Override The Part that should be stored with the Availability DMS record. Only set this value if the Part should be different than the Part that would normally be stored with data from this Test.

This setting is only applicable if Track Availability is set to Enter Downtime with Reasons.
Scheduled Time (Minutes) The minutes of Scheduled Time for the data collection period (typically an hour or a work shift).

This property is only available when tracking availability or performance.
Cycle Time The number of minutes required to produce one part under ideal conditions.

This property is only available when tracking performance.
Quality Defect Category The Defect Category that contains the quality Defects.

This setting is only applicable if Track Quality is set to Enter Bad Parts with Defects.
Quality Process Override The Process that should be stored with the Quality DMS record. Only set this value if the Process should be different than the Process that would normally be stored with data from this Test.

This setting is only applicable if Track Quality is set to Enter Bad Parts with Defects.
Quality Part Override The Part that should be stored with the Quality DMS record. Only set this value if the Part should be different than the Part that would normally be stored with data from this Test.

This setting is only applicable if Track Quality is set to Enter Bad Parts with Defects.
Test Specific Traceability Selected Traceability and values which only apply to this Test.
Store Data Determines how validity checks are performed and whether the values in this Test are submitted to GS when the Sub-Inspection is saved.

If Store Data is selected, validity checks are performed and data is submitted.

If Do Not Store Data is selected, validity checks are performed but data is not submitted.

If Bypass Validity and Do Not Store is selected, validity checks are not performed and data is not submitted.
Note Button Whether the button allowing the operator to enter notes is displayed and whether a note is required to be entered.

See the related property in Sub-Inspections and Inspections.
Alert The Alert to send if a real-time failure occurs in this Test.
Enable Total Parts Whether the Total Parts input should be visible and accept user input.
Border Whether to display a visual border around the Test in the Inspection layout.
Freeze Test If this Test is placed on the same row as a taller Test, this Test will not scroll off the screen until the taller Test scrolls off the screen.

Tracking Availability

The availability metric in OEE is used to measure equipment uptime.

Warning

If the availability metric is being tracked, the Scheduled Time property must be set.

If the Track Availability setting is set to Enter Available Time, the Test will display an input field for the user to enter the total uptime.

Available Time

If the Track Availability setting is set to Enter Downtime with Reasons, the Availability Defect Category must be selected on the Test. When the Test is displayed in the Inspection, the user must select the Edit Downtime button to open an overlay and enter downtime for the Defects specified by the Category. The number of minutes of downtime associated with each Defect should be entered in this overlay. When the Sub-Inspection is submitted, GS will store a linked Availability DMS data record for this Defect data, optionally using the Availability Part and Process Overrides.

Edit Downtime

Downtime Overlay

Like the Defect List Test, Parent Defect Categories can be used to dynamically set the Defect Category while running the Inspection.

Tracking Performance

The performance metric in OEE is used to analyze equipment throughput.

Warning

If the performance metric is being tracked, the Scheduled Time and Cycle Time properties must be set.

If the Track Performance property is checked, the Test will display an input field for the user to enter the total parts produced.

Total Parts

Tracking Quality

The quality metric in OEE is used to evaluate the percentage of good parts produced.

If the Track Quality setting is set to Enter Good Parts, the Test will display an input field for the user to enter the total parts and good parts produced.

Good Parts

If the Track Quality setting is set to Enter Bad Parts with Defects, the Quality Defect Category must be selected on the Test. When the Test is displayed in the Inspection, the user must enter the total parts produced and select the Edit Defects button to open an overlay and enter the count of each Defect that was present in the sample. When the Sub-Inspection is submitted, GS will store a linked Quality DMS data record for this Defect data, optionally using the Quality Part and Process Overrides.

Edit Defects

Defects Overlay

Like the Defect List Test, Parent Defect Categories can be used to dynamically set the Defect Category while running the Inspection.

Real-Time Failures

Real-Time Failures are evaluated when the browser focus leaves the Test. During this calculation, the Test will enter a temporary loading state. The specific real-time checks which are performed are based on the Real-Time Failure Groups set on the Process associated with the Test.

If a real-time failure is found, the Test's background will turn red and the real-time failure will be displayed.

Real-Time Failures

Adding a Note

The Note button can be clicked to open an overlay to enter a note for this Test. This note can be included in Data Tables and can be used in Filters.

Note Button

A note will be required if this Test has a real-time failure and the Note Button property is set to require notes. If the note is required but has not been entered, the Submit button may still be enabled for the Sub-Inspection. Submitting the Sub-Inspection will open an overlay and the user will be required to enter all missing notes before data is submitted.

The OEE Test can be linked to the Chart Test to give a historical context for values.
