Ask GS
Subscription Tier Required
This feature requires the Enterprise subscription tier.
When investigating a quality issue, it can often be helpful to the assistance of an ubiased third-party. In GS, you can discuss the contents of a Dashboard with a powerful AI to get help with root-cause analysis, brainstorming next steps, and general quality troubleshooting.
Warning
GS AI does not have the complete context of your environment and may make mistakes. Double check all output before taking action or following recommendations.
Security and Privacy
Conversations and data shared with the GS AI are not transmitted outside of GS's secure virtual network and are never used to train AI models.
Prerequisites
This guide assumes you have sufficient data to perform analysis (at least 25-30 data records) and a Dashboard with at least one chart.
Providing Additional Context
GS will provide more helpful results if you are able to provide it with additional context about your manufacturing environment. This additional context is configured as a Global Setting.
You might include helpful information like:
- The type of products you make.
- The equipment you use to take measurements.
- The sampling methods you use.
Conversations
To begin a conversation, click the Ask GS button.
If you have already started a conversation inside this Dashboard, that conversation will be opened. Otherwise, the New Chat interface will be displayed.
To begin a new conversation, type a message into the chat area and press the Enter key or the Send button. For example, you might ask:
- What's the capability of the length of these 3-inch bolts?
- What's causing the variation in the weights of my bags of chips?
- How else should I analyze the visual defects present in these refrigerators?
The GS AI is always kept up-to-date with the contents of your Dashboard. When a conversation is started, all charts, Stats Grids, and Insights on the Dashboard will be automatically included in the message sent to GS. Whenever a new message is sent, any changes to the Dashboard (such as additional charts, refreshed data, or changes to visual settings) will be automatically synced for you.
If you are currently viewing a chart in an overlay, it will also be included in the message. This allows you to ask questions about any Insight in GS.
Each User may have one conversation with each Dashboard. To begin a new conversation, you must Clear the current conversation or create a copy of the Dashboard.
Following Up
After you have started a conversation, you may want to follow up with additional questions or information. Type your next message into the chat area near the bottom of the screen and press Send. Remember that anything which has been updated or added to the Dashboard will be automatically included with this new message.
Persistence
Conversations persist in GS until they are cleared or the Dashboard is deleted. After a message has been sent, you may safely close or minimize the chat, and you may safely leave the Dashboard without losing progress.
Limitations
GS AI has the following limitations:
- Raw data and data tables are not included in messages sent to GS.
- A maximum of 20 charts will be sent to GS in each message. If more than 20 charts are present on a Dashboard, only the first 20 will be included. The remaining charts will be included in the next message sent (up to an additional 20 per message).
- Conversations have a limit of 200,000 tokens. After this limit is reached, you will need to clear the conversation to continue chatting about the Dashboard.
