Exporting Data
Exporting data from GS provides a CSV file containing all information about the exported data records. This functionality is commonly used as a starting point for bulk updates, but can also be used to help with external system integration and offline analysis using other statistical software.
Data exports can be performed in one of two ways: the Export Data page and from a Dashboard.
Using the Export Data Page
Data can be bulk exported to a CSV by using the Export Data page under the Analysis menu.
This page lists historic data exports along with their status information. Each row also includes:
- A Download button to download the export's CSV, if the export has completed and has not yet expired.
- A Delete button to cancel the export, if the export has not completed.
Starting a new Data Export
To start a new data export:
- Click the Add button.

- Set up the Retrieval to determine which data is exported.
- Select which types of data should be exported.
- Review the export settings.
- Exports are processed asynchronously and occassionally update their statuses in the table of exports.
- After the export completes, it will display a button to download the CSV.
Exporting Data From a Dashboard
Dashboard tables may be saved as a CSV by clicking the Download button. This download includes all information about the records in the currently-viewed table. Note that this method of downloading data is limited by the Retrieval's Max Records to Retrieve setting.
