Applying List Restrictions

List Restrictions are a feature of User Groups that limit the Processes, Parts, and Traceability values available to a User while running an Inspection. This functionality helps streamline data entry by ensuring that only relevant options are presented.

Information

Only Traceability which have Preset Options will appear in the list of available List Restrictions on the User Group page.

Creating a List Restriction

To restrict the choices available to a User in a Process, Part, or Traceability Test, the User must belong to a Group.

Tip

If a User belongs to multiple Groups, the available options will be the combination of all List Restrictions defined by those Groups.

To create a List Restriction:

  1. If the User does not already belong to a Group, create a Group and assign the User to it.
  2. View or Edit the Group.
  3. In the List Restrictions section, click Edit next to the list to be restricted. Edit List Restriction button
  4. In the overlay, select the allowed values by clicking the Add buttons on the left-hand side. Add buttons on left-hand list
  5. Click Save to save and apply the List Restriction.

Information

List Restrictions only apply when running an Inspection. They do not affect other entity lists.
