Collecting Other Data Types
In addition to SPC and DMS data, GS can be used to collect Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) data and track completed tasks.
OEE Data
Subscription Tier Required
This feature requires the Premier subscription tier or higher.
OEE data is the accumulated Process run data which represents the efficiency of equipment. This includes the number of parts produced, how many of those parts were defective, and the amount of downtime in a given production run.
When collecting OEE data, keep the following principles in mind:
- The OEE Test is the only Test used to store OEE data.
- A Process must be defined for OEE data. This is typically set using the Inspection's Process setting or a Process Test.
- Read the OEE Test's reference for information on how to configure the Test to collect any combination of availability, performance, and quality data.
Task Data
Task data is a record of an operator completing a specific check or task.
When collecting Task data, keep the following principles in mind:
- The Task Test is the only Test used to store Task data.
- A Process must be defined for Task data. This is typically set using the Inspection's Process setting or a Process Test.
- Task data can include a record of another User signing off on the task.
Sign-Off
To require a supervisor or other User to sign off on a task:
- Add a Task Test to a Sub-Inspection.
- Check Require Sign-Off.
- In the list of Sign-Off Roles, select the Roles whose members are allowed to sign off.
- Select the Save and Run action.
At runtime, the Task Test will display a list of eligible Users. After selecting a User, they must enter their 4-digit PIN to complete the sign-off. The Test cannot be completed until the sign-off is provided.
